Sebelum berangkat, perhatikan hal-hal berikut:

Istirahat makan siang dulu buat isi tenaga

  • Menyaksikan proses tumbuh kembang.

Panen pisang satu tandan!

Yuk, tunggu apa lagi?

How to Keep Your Baby Warm?

I have just received a gift package from Jamu Jago contains Bèbè Roosie telon cream and Buyung Upik sirup anti masuk angin – it is like a syrup for relieving dispepsia symptoms. It was wonderful to have another stock of telon cream for my sons.

Telon Oil, Telon Cream and Baby Balsam

As you know, if you have a baby you will need telon oil a lot for daily use! Because telon oil helps to keep your baby warm, despite the fact that we live in a tropical country.

Commonly babies’ stomach could be gaseous and babies could catch a cold or cough easily, so it’s very good to rub some warm oil to their neck, chest, belly, hands and feet.

Thus, I wonder why it’s very rare that people give telon oil as presents for newborn baby… Because this thing is the most useful and the most needed. Any idea why?

I have three kind of different products that almost have the same purpose, helping baby to stay warm:

1. My Baby telon oil
♥ Composition;
Oleum Citronellae 2.5%
Oleum Chamomillae 2.5%
Oleum Anisi 7.5%
Oleum Cajuputi Compositum 60.35%
Oleum Cocos 27.15%

♥ This kind of product is very common in Indonesia with many various of brands. But I use this telon oil the most for my sons because it’s easy to find it at stores.
♥ This oil is not too hot and doesn’t have strong Cajuputi fragrance.
♥ The dominant fragrance is Citronella.
♥ The more advantage of using this telon oil that it helps preventing mosquito’s bite for 6 hours because of the strong Citronella fragrance.
♥ This telon oil is just oily for a moment because it is easy to be vaporized.
♡ Unfortunately, my sons have ever spilled this oil that much to the floor! It has been fallen down to the floor accidentaly too, until the bottle cracked and leaked.
♥ However, My Baby telon oil is very useful for everyday use.
♥ Variants: Telon Oil Plus anti mosquitos bites for 6 hours and for 8 hours.
♥ Made in Indonesia.
♥ Volume: 60ml, 90ml, 150ml.
♥ Package: bottle with box.
♥ Price: Rp 12.000-36.000

2. Bèbè Roosie telon cream

♥Composition;
Oleum Cajuputi 4g
Oleum Foeniculi 3g
Oleum Olivae 1g
Cream base until 60g
♥I like the fragrance, because it is very telon oil fragrance which is the most familiar Cajuputi fragrance.
♥This telon cream is warm enough for your children.
♥The cream texture is smooth and nonsticky. It is almost like moisturizer – it really moisturises you baby skin.
♥ It helps to prevent mosquitos bites too but I don’t know how long the duration is.
♥  I like this new kind of telon cream because it doesn’t spill out, still be careful from children because they can squish the tube.
♥ Made in Indonesia.
♥ Volume: 60g
♥ Package: tube with box.
♥ Sorry I really don’t know the price because I got it for free. But I checked on Bébé Roosie Instagram is about Rp 25,700

3. VICKS BabyBalsam
♥ Composition;
Petrolatum, Fragrance, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Paraffinum Liquidum (Mineral Oil), Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Extract.
Contains Aloe Vera and fragrances of Eucalyptus, Rosemary and Lavender.

♥ This one has unique fragrance of Eucalyptus, Lavender and Rosemary unlike others. My son always says as “balsem wangi” or as “smells good balsam”.
♥ The balsam texture is like a soft wax or balm and it is a little bit sticky on your skin.
♥ Although it is said as balsam, actually it doesn’t feel hot at all! Because it doesn’t contain any menthol like normal balsam but eucalyptus. So it gives a slight warmth.
♥ It is written that, “Vicks BabyBalsam moisturising & shooting baby care.
Together with your loving touch, Vicks BabyBalsam helps to gently calm, soothe, relax and moisturise your baby.”
I think this balsam is better used for rubbing or massaging your baby and as aromatheraphy because of its pleasant aroma. So it is really really good to shoote and comfort.
♥ I often use it at night so my sons would have a better nice sleep. So it could reduce a baby colic too, I guess.
♡ It has lavender fragrance but it has no claim that this product would prevent your baby from mosquito’s bites.
♥ I really love the jar because it is very compact and the lid has cute pink color.
♥ Made in Germany.
♥ Volume: 50g
♥ Package: jar with box
♥ Price: Rp 80.000

All products are suitable for baby to toddler. Even adult still can use them too.

Anyway, in Indonesia is never as cold as winter in Europe. It is always warm here, but I’ve almost never heard that people in cold climate ever use this kind of telon oil. Yeah, we always call sort of warm oil for baby as telon oil which mostly consists of Cajuputi Oil as the main ingredient.

So, which one do you prefer?
Please share it with me…

Hey, it’s really great to make them as baby presents too!

First Time Meeting With Tamara Rijnenberg and Antoinette Peters

It was indeed a lovely day to remember.

As I have already worked as an English teacher in Yayasan Eka Chita Pradnyan under WINS Foundation from Netherland, on Thursday May the 4th, I had the opportunity to meet the representative persons behind WINS and VIP-International. What a wonderful experience I had!

I have been teaching English for three months

Let me tell you first about WINS. It is a Dutch acronym for Weeskinderen in Indonesia Naar School. The phrase means “education for children in Indonesia“. WINS Project was started in 2004 by Gill Rijnenberg from the Netherlands and Ketut Sadia from Bali. WINS helps to teach children to become self-sufficient and responsible for their own future. As well as receiving their regular schooling, WINS offers additional lessons for the children after school such as English lesson, computer skill, personal hygiene and environment care.

Giving English lesson about American Vs. British English

So the person who had started the WINS project, Gill Rijnenberg, has a daughter who also works for WINS. She is Tamara Rijnenberg. Tamara is still young but older than me about 7 years. The other person is Antoinette Peters from VIP-International. VIP itsself stands for Volunteering in Indonesia Program.

I heard that formerly Mrs. Peters worked for WINS too. Then she moved to work for VIP-International. It is still a partnership with WINS because WINS always welcome voluntary work so all volunteer matters for the WINS Learning Centers are handled by VIP-International. VIP-International can assist the volunteers in getting the necessary Social Visa, accomodation, arranging transport facilities, and doing WINS specific introductary workshops.

Teaching English with the new volunteer from Finland

Tamara lives in Holland while Mrs. Peters lives in Bedulu, Bali. When Tamara visited Bali last week, she would like to meet me in person together with Mrs. Peters. So they came to Eka Chita Pradnyan on Thursday afternoon at 12.30 o’clock.   I was there about 12 o’clock and I helped Mrs. Ketut Sunarmi to cook special lunch for the guests.

When they arrived in Samsaman, we were still busy cooking the meal. Mrs. Ketut Sunarmi accompanied them to visit the guest house first and then they sat down in the canteen. I met them and introduced myself as Intan, and then they noticed, “oh, you are Intan! Nice to meet you.”

Before that, we only communicated through e-mail and Facebook so it was delightful to talk in person with them. We talked and we had lunch together. Our meal was chicken with red seasoning, fried eggplant, steamed shrimp and sauted kangkung. They all really loved the lunch and Antoinette said that she always reccomend the volunteers to have lunch here.

Antoinette could speak Indonesian a little because she had already lived in Bali for a long time. while we were still cooking she said that she loved the smell of terasi! Both Antoinette and Tamara like spicy food, they added sambal to their dishes while I didn’t because I can’t stand hot and spicy taste.

After having lunch, we took a photo together. What happened next was we attended to the class to give English lesson to the children. Me and the new volunteer from Findland was giving an outdoor English game while Tamara was taking some pictures. Antoinette helped us to explain the game to the children in the beginning.

Both Tamara and Antoinette were very nice and kind persons. They were very warm and friendly to the children too. Unfortunately they didn’t stay for a long time, they need to leave while we were still playing with the children. It was so quick that we had to say goodbye. So we kiss each other before they left.

Playing English game outside with Matti from Finland

Yeah, it was exciting to meet people from foreign country. I was lucky because I had the chance to meet them. It can be often to meet people from around the world because of the learning center I work at. Besides I live in Bali, it is because Yayasan Eka Chita Pradnyan welcomes voluntary work from International people. Next time I will write with whom I collaborate teaching English at the learning center. It must be very challenging to work with foreign people from different countries with different culture and language.

Now, I can’t wait to tell the next story about the new volunteer from Finland! I’ll ask his permission first. So, wait for it.

We Are Perfect Strangers

When I saw the “Perfect Strangers” video clip oh I fell in love with the adventurous flash romance. I think we all enjoy romance that’s why Shakespeare was successful for his literature works and plays. He is very popular and we learn a lot from  him. And we all also love music! Music is a universal thing that everybody will like it whatever genre it is.

I think this single is a perfect combination of tribal house and tropical house genre with the caucasian casts of the video clip as tourists in somewhere like Africa. This song was released on June 3rd 2016 by Jonas Blue as the producer and JP Cooper as the vocal.

I don’t know who Jonas Blue and JP Cooper are actually, because there are no Jonas neither JP Cooper appearences on the video clip, I guess, I’m not sure. What I know is just that Jonas Blue is British DJ and JP Cooper is a British singer. I love their work in “Perfect Strangers” as the whole package, the music, the lyric, the vocal, the video clip, the casts, and the setting.

I know Kygo, the Norwegian DJ and producer, but Jonas Blue is still new to me. I only know one of his song! Just the Perfect Strangers and it already made me fall in love.

The perfection of being a human is told in this song like we can have some fun and we can still enjoy the circumstance although we are not sure how to carry on later. We deserve enjoying the moment that makes us happy before it lasts.

The video clip is lovely because it depicts a romantic image in adventurous way. There are a man and a woman as tourists in a unknown place. Yeah, they have different trips there and then meet accidentally but they are strangers to each other. They keep travel until eventually they spent time together just like a couple vacation.

Just imagine if it happened to me… I was having a vacation in a tropical country on my own, ’til I met another gorgeous male tourist there. Then we became interested in each other. You know what would happen next… that was only the romantic initiation, expand your imagination while singing the song! Maybe the lyric offers a better story.

JONAS BLUE LYRICS

“Perfect Strangers”
(feat. JP Cooper)

[JP Cooper:]
You were looking at me like you wanted to stay
When I saw you yesterday
I’m not wasting your time, I’m not playing no games
I see you

Who knows the secret tomorrow will hold?
We don’t really need to know
‘Cause you’re here with me now, I don’t want you to go

You’re here with me now, I don’t want you to go
Maybe we’re perfect strangers
Maybe it’s not forever
Maybe the night will change us
Maybe we’ll stay together
Maybe we’ll walk away
Maybe we’ll realize
We’re only human

Maybe we don’t need no reason
Maybe we’re perfect strangers
Maybe it’s not forever
Maybe the night will change us
Maybe we’ll stay together

Maybe we’ll walk away
Maybe we’ll realize
We’re only human
Maybe we don’t need no reason why
Come on, come on, come over
Maybe we don’t need no reason why
Come on, come on, come over

No one but you got me feeling this way
There’s so much we can’t explain
Maybe we’re helping each other escape
I’m with you

Who knows the secret tomorrow will hold?
We don’t really need to know
‘Cause you’re here with me now, I don’t want you to go
You’re here with me now, I don’t want you to go

Maybe we’re perfect strangers
Maybe it’s not forever
Maybe the night will change us
Maybe we’ll stay together
Maybe we’ll walk away
Maybe we’ll realize
We’re only human
Maybe we don’t need no reason
Maybe we’re perfect strangers
Maybe it’s not forever
Maybe the night will change us
Maybe we’ll stay together
Maybe we’ll walk away
Maybe we’ll realize
We’re only human

Maybe we don’t need no reason why
Come on, come on, come over
Maybe we don’t need no reason why
Come on, come on, come over
Come on, come on, come over
Maybe we don’t need no reason why
Come on, come on, come over
