Cawan Mushi Recipe a la Mama Kalki

Actually this is a simple recipe just like when I made omelette with chopped vegetables. The difference is just how to cook it.

Cawan Mushi is a Japanese food made from egg. The egg is steamed inside a bowl. It’s easy to cook and give egg-based food variation fpr yor kids.

I cook Cawan Mushi because Kavin gets a cough, so it’s better for him to get oil free food.


  1. 2 Eggs
  2. Minced Celery
  3. Chopped shrimp
  4. Minced mustard or spinach
  5. Grated carrot
  6. A pinch of salt
  7. A bit of pepper
  8. A bit of coriander

How to cook:

  1. Beat up the eggs with a ceramic bowl or stainless steel bowl.
  2. Add minced celery, chopped shrimp, minced mustard, grated carrot and the seasonings. Mix well.
  3. Prepare the steamer until it gets hot.
  4. Put the bowl inside the steamer.
  5. Steam for 15 minutes.
  6. Cawan Mushi is ready to be served.

The texture is soft and foamy. Very delicate and tasty. Have a try!
